Here are our favorite things to see and do in Podstrana and surrounding area.

1. Excursion site Antonica's (Benzona) Mlin

Come enjoy Historical Watermill and adjacent recreational areas. On this authentic Dalmatian estate, you will travel back in tie and visit a beautiful 16th century landmark. incidentally, HBO agreed with us and choose this estate to tape Game of Thrones season IV.

While visiting you can indulge in all things Dalmatian: eat, drink and relax. Savor locally grown food, sample homemade wines and liquors, taste olive oils and experience traditional Dalmatian cuisines.

2. Tavern "Argola"

Tavern “Argola” is known for its cozy and homely ambiance with always friendly service, a cozy atmosphere and a rich offer of traditional dishes prepared in a traditional way that will always motivate you to return.

Taverna offer consists mainly of homemade traditional dishes. Most of the foods we use are grown in our family farm. 3. Vranjaca Cave

The Vranjaca cave is situeted in the village Kotlenice, half an hour drive away from Split.

The entrance, with no decoration, has been  known to locals since ancient times, whereas the other part was discover in 1903 by the owner of  land where the cave is located. Cave was opened to the public in 1929. A specific feature of the cave is that interior maintains a constant year-round temperature of above 15 °C

4.Visit The Klis Fortress

The Klis fortress, one of the most significant fortifications in Croatia, due to its strategic importance had a significant defense position. During the history Klis fortress is also know as the “Key of Dalmatia”

The arranged fortress with an unforgettable view, numerous events and a rich historical heritage, and, at the same time, peace and quiet have made Klis an exceptionally attractive location which needs to be visited. Klis fortress is antoher location in Split area where the HBO  Game of Thrones was filmed

5. The Ruins of Salona

Take a walk thought ancients Roman city Salona. Explore the remnants of the city which was the former center of Roman province Dalmatia.

The ancient Salona, Colonia Martia Iulia Salona,
as its full name was, the capitol of the Roman province
of Dalmatia, was founded at the mouth of the river Jadro
and in the sheltered sea bay, at the foot of the mountain
Kozjak. Before the arrival of the Italics and the Romans,
the area had been inhabited by local Delmats and Greek
merchants. Salona is the forerunner of today’s Solin.
